Very few females will go through life without using cosmetics to enhance their natural appearance. Camouflage cosmetics such as foundations, colour correctors and concealers are all different products that are used to give an individual a clearer, flawless complexion.

Camouflage cosmetics are broken into the following categories:

Concealers: a concealer is thicker and heavier than foundation makeup as it is used to cover more noticeable flaws on the face, such as pimples, scars, blemishes, marks and birthmarks. You should choose a concealer that is creamy and smooth to apply but will not rub off easily. Many people start their makeup regime by applying concealer under their eyes to hide dark circles or wrinkles.

Colour Correctors: to reduce discolourations in skin, a colour corrector is needed. They are used to disguise redness such as from acne blemishes or scarring. Green correction fluid or cream is used to reduce the appearance of redness in skin, whereas lavender correction makeup works for yellow tinges.

Foundations: foundation is used last of all the camouflage cosmetics. Foundations vary in thickness and coverage but will give the wearer a clearer complexion. After applying concealers and colour correcting products, foundation can be applied across the entire face to achieve the most flawless-looking skin. Foundations should be selected depending on the type of skin: dry, oily, acne-prone, aged, combination or sensitive.
